Founding Netflix In 1997, after a frustrating experience with a video rental late fee, Hastings co-founded Netflix as a DVD rental-by-mail service. The company quickly adapted to the changing technology landscape, introducing a subscription model that allowed customers to rent unlimited DVDs without due dates.

Streaming Revolution In 2007, Netflix introduced streaming services, which revolutionized how people consume media.
